SAVE THE PEOPLE

People of the world are steadily becoming more and more conscientious that it is up to us, the inhabitants of earth to take great measures to save the world. With all this new Eco and green frenzy, along has come a long list of green products that consumers are eagerly trying to sell us, but of course with the notable cause of being green, ehem ehem.

Now I am not one to discourage anyone form buying any such green labeled products, but what I think is important for people to consider is the how and where these products are being made. http://www.naftalistern.com

Of course bamboo is a sustainable product, and yes all sorts of exotic grasses are stylishly available, forever encased in polished resin. Wood can be reclaimed, practical anything can be reclaimed, but practically anything that can be reclaimed or recycled does very well take large quantities of valuable petroleum fluids to produce, and ship. But of course, this argument we are all well aware of! www.wethinkgreen.com

My dear people, the earth would benefit even more greatly if we were to rediscover that purchasing things made locally by local people, from real craftsman and artisans who use local sources to produce their creations. www.wethinkgreen.com

Why? 1. their products are better 2. the products are fresh 3. products made by someone who put their love of craftsmanship into it is more likely to be used by your great grandchildren whom might even discuss their great grandparent who used it 4. supporting local production will influence more local production 5. local production means you get to have more unique variety 6. buying things local permits you to learn more about where and whom the product is made buy and that is great lifestyle associations and the process is educational 7. local made products demands less shipping costs from your piggy bank savings, and less need for black clouds of engine fuel exhaust 8. It’s cool to know who sewed your pants 9. It’s even cooler to know who makes your yogurt. www.wethinkgreen.com

As the days come to pass, I shall try to display local products that I find thought my travels and compose thoughts of how one might be able to become more interested in the local market around them, to find them, to demand them, to enjoy them, to inspire them.
